Teachers are prepared to teach also how withstand disasters

In July-August,  the Armenian Red Cross Society, jointly with "LORE" Rescue team NGO, within the framework of "Building Safe and Resilient Communities" project has organized 3-day trainings for 80 teachers from 14 schools of Darpas, Kurtan, Stepanavan, Vanadzor and Yerevan communities.

The aim of trainings was to increase the level of disaster preparedness in the schools by delivering knowledge to pupils through trained teachers. Teachers  has been trained on the following topics:

• Natural and man-made disasters:  how to protect from them,
• Teaching Methods: games and other non - traditional ways of learning
• First Aid principles. bleeding, fractures, swoon, scald.

Teachers mentioned, that  the training was very relevant for them, because safety of children is the most important component of the school activities.
