Congratulatory message of the President of the Armenian Red Cross Society on the occasion of the International Volunteers Day
I warmly congratulate all volunteers on the International Volunteers Day.
Back in 1985, by the decision of the General Assembly of the United Nations, it was declared 5th of December as the International Volunteers Day, but volunteering has been an important manifestation, synonym and parallel of humanism for 1000 years.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has begun with humanitarian volunteer work and continues its most important mission up to this day.
About 16.400.000 people are involved in the great family of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement volunteers, including the volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross. The volunteer selflessly dedicates his effort and compassion to those who need protection, support, and mercy.
The Armenian Red Cross Society, being a full member of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, is guided by the seven fundamental principles of the movement, of which volunteerism is one of the key pillars of our activity.
Dear volunteers, we thank you for your willingness, I wish you inexhaustible strength and energy, may there never be impassable roads in your life.
Happy Volunteers Day.
