Call for Applications: Home Helpers
The Armenian Red Cross Society is pleased to announce vacancies within the framework of the “Integrated Community-Based Home Care Service Provision and Healthy Ageing” program. We are seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join our team as Home Helpers in the following locations:
Selected candidates will contribute to the delivery of essential home care services, supporting the wellbeing and dignity of older persons and individuals in vulnerable situations.
Project Background:
The “Integrated Community-Based Home Care Service Provision and Healthy Ageing” Project aimed at promotion of health, wellbeing and quality of life of elderly, chronically ill and disabled persons through a focus on active ageing and better access to well-functioning integrated medical and social services.
The project strategy is based on the understanding that old people and people with disabilities want to have a dignified life and as much as autonomy as possible by staying at home as long as possible, receiving care and assistance covering their specific and individual needs, being integrated in community life and able to realise their potential and skills, as well as influence their own life and life of their communities.
The project strategy will be pursued through several components:
i) building a sustainable system of integrated home care provision with nurses, home helpers and volunteers;
ii) mobilization of community and promoting the concept of active and healthy ageing;
iii) strengthening organizational capacities of ARCS to play an active role in building up the “integrated community based home care system” and conducting community work in Armenia.
JOB DESCRIPTION
General Responsibilities:
Assurance of safe individual care and assistance within given tasks of the nursing process
· Domestic assistance (shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, heating)
· Promoting social interaction, accompanying, etc
· Individual care (motivating client for self-support, assistance in dressing, eating and drinking, using the toilet, personal hygiene, mobility, positioning and mobilization, assistance in taking medication etc.)
· Inform a supervisor about the health state of beneficiaries and relevant observations
· Keep records of work performed
· Close cooperation all team members
Other responsibilities:
· Participation in development of materials concerning health and social care issues and other common initiatives with stakeholders.
· Participation in the trainings organized within the framework of the project and sharing of the knowledge gained through workshops/ meetings, etc
· Participate in activities of ARCS branch
· Other relevant responsibilities, special orders of the nurse manager
Qualification Requirements:
· 1 year education background (Nursing assistant or equivalent)
· Experience/ interest in knowledge sharing and training
· Ability to work in a team
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Fluency in spoken and written Armenian
