On 25 April, Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation and mutual support was signed between the RA Tavush Regional Administration and Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS), by Hail Chobanyan, Head of Tavush Region and Dr. Mkhitar Mnatsakanyan, ARCS President.
According to the MoU, the Regional Administration and the ARCS will cooperate for the purpose of joint emergency preparedness and response.
ARCS will be involved in RA Tavush Regional emergency situations commission and Disaster Risk Reduction regional team, will support the trainings, simulation drills and other educational events of volunteer response teams with organizational skills and expertise (disaster preparedness and response, Tracing service, first aid, psycho-social support, etc..); in case of emergency situations, will support the affected people through relevant progarmmes and International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement humanitarian aid providing mechanisms.
