“Restoring Livelihoods and Enhancing Well-being of conflict-affected population from Nagorno Karabakh in Armenia” program has kicked off.
In December 2023, the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross has started the implementation of the program “Restoring Livelihoods and Enhancing Well-being of conflict-affected population from Nagorno Karabakh in Armenia”, a program funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid and the Austrian Red Cross. The program aims to support persons displaced from Nagorno Karabakh from September 2023 living in Ararat, Armavir, and Kotayk regions.
By November 2024, about 10000 people will be provided with individual and group psychological support, 500 teachers will be trained on the topics of child protection and psychological first aid, 6 safe spaces (Smiley Club) will be set up for children, 3232 people will receive cash support for food, and livelihoods support will be provided to 1000 people through counseling, job placement support and referrals to different state and non-state services.
The main objective of the project is to improve the living conditions as well as psychosocial well-being of the displaced population.
