Executive director of the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) Anna Yeghiazaryan received the delegation of the Austrian Red Cross, which consisted of Mr. Eduard Trampusch – head of the International Programmes' department, Ms Katarina Banicevic, team leader Europe, Ms Lena Lang, Desk Europe. The purpose of the visit was to discuss current cooperation and future plans.
“I am pleased that for many years a high-level of effective cooperation has been established between our national societies. As a result of joint activities, we recorded significant results and created serious foundations for the expansion of this cooperation, for which I am grateful,” A. Yeghiazaryan said.
The members of the delegation also emphasized that they are pleased for the effective cooperation with the Armenian Red Cross Society.
The vision and plans to further expand the partnership between the two NSs were discussed.
In cooperation with the Austrian Red Cross Society, the ARCS carries out activities in the directions of the development of the National Society, disaster management, social support and health care, youth and population movement. The Austrian Red Cross provided significant support to the renovation of the 24-hour care center in Gyumri, the improvement of the center's conditions and services, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Karabakh conflict escalation and 2022 response to the aftermath of the September 13 military operations.
Within the framework of the visit, the Armenian Red Cross Society together with the representatives of the Austrian Red Cross delegation had a series of meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Shirak regional administration and visited the 24-hour Gyumri care center and the Smiley Club of the Abovyan dormitory.
