Within “Strengthening Resilience of South Caucasus Communities to Health Emergencies” project funded by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies the lead volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross Society were trained in Tsakhkadzor on April 11-14, and in Yerevan on April 15-17 in the fields of first aid, epidemic control, water hygiene and sanitation and so on.
The goal of the program is to strengthen the resilience of communities, to reduce the negative impact of disasters and emergencies on the health of the population, as well as to improve the capacity to control epidemics, first aid and psychological support.
145 ARCS trained community volunteers will conduct community-based capacity building and awareness raising actions aimed to strengthen local community resilience to health-related emergencies.
265,000 community members will be reached in total in Tavush, Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Lori, Shirak, Yerevan communities and will receive information on health-related consequences of disasters and crisis.
