Volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross Society participated in the Youth Innovation Initiative Competition announced by the Solferino Academy of the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies. The volunteers presented their ideas, aimed at responding the problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in Armenian communities.
Member national societies of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement participated in the competition. The volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross Society presented 8 youth initiatives, 6 of which were approved by the selection committee.
The volunteers then participated in more than 25 youth skills development courses that enabled them to refine their ideas and submit pilot initiatives each receiving a grant of 500 CHF personally awarded by the Secretary General of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation.
After implementing the initiatives in Yerevan, Gyumri, Gavar and Ijevan, the volunteers presented the work done, and had the opportunity to apply again for funding to develop or distribute successful programs.
