Purpose of the project


The Armenian Red Cross Society is involved in three components of the CoNaKa project: The ARCS
targeted the local population displaced by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and affected by COVID-19.
Families in dire need of food and non-food items are among the national society's primary targets. As
part of the disaster relief component, the ARCS aims to provide rental subsidies to beneficiaries
assessed and selected according to vulnerability groups through the project.
Within the gender-sensitive PSS support component framework, the families who applied for the ARCS
will receive socio-psychological support.


Within the framework of the "economic empowerment" component, the ARCS aims to achieve the
financial stability of vulnerable families to some extent. Beneficiaries will be allowed to participate in
career development and financial literacy training. The working tools provided will promote
beneficiaries' employment and financial stability.
Renovation in the Gyumri 24-hour Care Centre, within the framework of this component, the ARCS aims
to renovate the two floors of the administrative part of the Gyumri 24-hour "Care center", through
which the beneficiaries of the center will get more comfortable and dignified living conditions.


Project Objectives

 

  •  The one of the primary targets of the ARCS is the families in need of fatal food and non-food

items․

  •  Within the Disaster relief component ARCS will provide rental subsidies to the identified

beneficiaries.

  •  Within the Gender sensitive PSS component ARCS will provide psycho-social support to the

identified families.

  •  Within the Sustainable livelihoods component ARCS will provide economic integration support

(income generation materials and tools). Beneficiaries will be given the opportunity to
participate in career development and financial literacy courses before receiving the working
tools.

  •  Within the construction ARCS will renovate two floors of 24 Hour “Gyumri Rehabilitation

Centre”.

  •  Main goals of the CoNaKa project(support components & road map)


1․Disaster Relief-/3 years, once a year /
In Armenia, 1000 Covid-19 and NK conflict affected families will be addressed by humanitarian
assistance (food and non-food items)
2․Gender-sensitive psychosocial support services
In Armenia, 2.240 Covid-19 and NK conflict affected persons will receive PSS support
3․Housing rental subsidies (cash)
In Armenia, 1100 Covid-19 and NK conflict-affected persons will receive subsidies during 3 years.
4․Economic Empowerment
In Armenia, 50 persons receive vocational training opportunities based on case management, business
support, capacity building trainings, diverse business support and equipment to establish a new business
of find an employment.
5․Rural health care development


In Armenia, 160 persons including people with disabilities, older people and people displaced from NK
will be targeted with infrastructure improvements in Gyumri Nursing home.

  •  Renovation/transformation of the administrative part of the ARCS Gyumri 24 hours Care Center

into a residential area.
-to gain more residential space in order to accommodate fewer residents in the shared rooms;
-to improve the sanitary/ hygienic and housing conditions of the residents;
-to decrease the level of transmission of infection (covid-19) from one resident to another and
staff members inside the-building;
-to be able to isolate those with any symptoms of infection diseases, including Covid-19;

-to ensure the gender-sensitive access and improved quality of health and care services,personal
hygiene conditions;
-to ensure the dignified life of the residents.
