Explosive Remnants of War & Mine Risk Education Program in the Republic of Armenia (ERW / MRE) project aims to reduce the risk and impact of ERW and mines through risk education activities including direct outreach and public campaigns.
At least 120,000 men, women, boys and girls will benefit from the project, by learning how to better protect themselves from explosive hazards and how to report the presence of them.
(a) to deliver an ERW / MRE program to at least 42 communities in 4 targeted provinces,
(b) to increase awareness of dangers of ERW and mines,
(c) to make population 'safe' behavioral change leading to a reduced number of accidents and incidents caused by ERW and mines,
(d) to increase confidence and improved relationships between affected communities and mine action organizations and the donors; leading to changing the perception of the stakeholders throughout the region.

The overall expected completion of the ERW / MRE Program shall be 24 months, implemented in 3 project phases:
(a) Phase 1 – Design and development of the ERW / MRE Program – 4 months
(b) Phase 2 – Delivery of School Based Activities – 11 months
(c) Phase 3 – Delivery of Community Based Activities – 9 months
The project is funded by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.
