The overall objective of this programme is to contribute to the National Integration Policy that intends to guarantee a dignified life for Syrian Armenians in Armenia through full protection and integration.
The specific objective is to improve social and economic resilience of Syrian Armenians and host population and to strengthen institutional capacities for economic growth in Armenia.
Intermediary Outcomes and main activities:
(1) Improved access to health and social services, including comprehensive information provision, psychological support and social services for Syrian Armenians and most vulnerable host population provided
Outputs: multi-sectorial info hub established comprehending all services offered to Syrian Armenians from state and non-state actors; provision of visiting services for older people and people with disabilities among Syrian Armenians, most vulnerable Armenians and other displaced people in Armenia; psychological and social consultations/services offered for Syrian Armenians.
(2) Improved housing conditions for Syrian Armenians
Outputs: most vulnerable Syrian Armenians provided with monthly subsidies; sustainable housing options explored, developed and fine-tuned with main stakeholders.
(3) Increased access to economic opportunities including business development and employment support for Syrian Armenians and host population
Outputs: organisational structure for a business incubator (BI) established for Syrian Armenians and local Armenians jointly with state and non-state actors; Syrian Armenians and local Armenians provided with business development support; sustainable continuation of the business incubation system promoted and advocated for with relevant state and non-state actors; employment skills and site promotion for Syrian Armenians improved.
(4) Improved integration and resilience of SA and local Armenian children and youth
Outputs: capacities of children, teachers, partners and state stakeholders on addressing Syrian Armenian issues improved through trainings on tolerance and psychological First Aid; social inclusion and integration of Syrian Armenian and local children and youth increased through joint after school activities.
Target groups: 9’000 Syrian Armenians better informed on existing services; 1’100 Syrian Armenians and local Armenians to benefit from improved psychological and social well-being; 720 Syrian Armenians to benefit from housing support; 200 entrepreneurs supported with business plans and trainings; 3’000 children and youth reached with integration activities; 360 teachers trained in psychological First Aid.
Final beneficiaries: 22’000 Syrian Armenian refugees and local host population.
