History Review of the ARCS foundation and development 1920 The Parliament of the Republic of Armenia ratified the Statutes of ARCS. 1921 Activities of ARCS were resumed after temporary cancellation. 1922 The ARCS Statutes was re-approved by the government of Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. 1925 ARCS became a member of the Alliance of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies of USSR. 1992 The 14th extraordinary session of General Assembly declared ARCS as the only National society in the country. 1992 ARCS International Post-Trauma Rehabilitation Centre was established in Armenia 1993 RA became signatory to the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and its Additional Conventions of 1977 1993 ARCS was recognized by the RA President’s statement. 1995 ARCS was recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross. 1995 ARCS was admitted to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as its full member. 1997 In Red Cross Museum of Solpherino was erected the ARCS memorial plate. 1997 The Society was elected as a member of Strategic Planning Commission by the 12th session of IFRC General Assembly. 2001 The Society was elected as member of Organizational Development Commission by the 13th session of IFRC General Assembly. 2002 The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia adopted law on the use and rotection of Red Cross and Red Crescent emblems. 2003 The Society was re-elected as a member of Organizational Development Commission by the 14th session of IFRC General Assembly. 2005 “RCY Development” Program Coordinator was elected as a member of Youth Commission of the International Federation of RC and RC National Societies. 2005 ARCS Youth Department was elected as a member of RCY European coordinating committee during the 7th European Coordinating meeting. 2005 ARCS volunteering and Membership Promotion Department was included as a member of the European network for volunteering development. 2006 ARCS Disaster Management and Population Movement Department was included as a member in European RC/RC NSs Network for Psychological Support during the meeting in Athens. |
